We are just loving the new Creative Expressions dies by Sue Wilson. They are so versatile and very reasonably priced. I love that you have so many choices from just one package and when someone said the other day, “I like this die, but I want to see some cards made with it first”, that I just had to reply “I’ll make some this week”.
So here are just a few ideas – some still await a sentiment but I am waiting for the inspiration. Or maybe I will just let the die tell its story.
Poinsettia Filigree Frame die by Creative Expressions – Sue Wilson
The die is imbedded into the card front.
The die has been cut into pieces using the various outline cuts and then placed on top of the card front. Will I add a sentiment – maybe, maybe not!
Again it has been imbedded into the card front and backed with gold card. Also awaits me making up my mind as to whether I will add a sentiment or not.
Cut in a variety of ways and placed on top of the card front.
White on white. Love this look.
Why not add a pre-made poinsettia!
Stunningly beautiful die with a real lacy look. The option of having the Poinsettia at the top or bottom of the frame is great.

I find making cards for men the hardest to put together and especially if they don’t have a hobby that you can use as a theme. This card with a car on would suit any guy as you can almost gurarantee they drive a car. It will also bring back some great memories if you use a car design from yesteryear. I love these gorgeous new dies and just had to have a play to see how well they fitted our normal size cards for posting. Square size cards in New Zealand cost double the postage and therefore I tend to only make this size card when passing direct to the recipient. These dies fit both the normal C6 card and an A4 size card triple folded.
On this first one below I have used a normal size card – ie an A5 sheet of cardstock folded in half. If I had just edged the front camel forward to the front edge of the card the third one wouldn’t have overlaped. Next time!
C6 size card
This next one is made from an A4 sheet of card, triple folded and then the lower folded removed to get a standard one fold card. Fits easily into a business size envelope and normal postage rate.

Elizabeth Craft Designs have created this new and clever idea – Stand Up Helpers. Their major purpose is to use these when making easel cards but they can also be used for sentiments just like you would use any other sentiment die. Just cut along the fold line. I hope to do a video shortly to show these in more detail but that will be at least a couple of weeks away. In the meantime here is the first card I created when having a trial run with this new creation.

The Season’s Greetings can fold down when the card is laid flat and being prepared to go in an envelope.

This photo shows the card as I began to flatten it out ready to go in the envelope. Folds flat like any normal card.

This picture shows the top of the card folded back revealing the Season’s Greetings cut into the base card. If you wanted to use this sentiment on the front of a card you could just cut it from any scrap piece of card and then you cut on the line at the base of the wording. I will do a cut as soon as I can so that you see what I mean.
