Some more ideas with the Transparent Peel Offs and other Christmas Card ideas.

For most of these cards I have used the Transparent Peel Offs and coloured them in with the Dufex pens. In order to do this and get an all over finish I have stuck the Peel Offs on to Acetate first, coloured them in and then trimmed them or in the case of the Lantern further down, cut an opening in the card and then cut the acetate slightly bigger to fix to the inside of the card. On this first card I have also coloured the Seasons Greetings with the Red Dufex Pen. All the products I used from my store are listed below.

Small Ornaments using the Dufex Pens

Christmas Bells 1

Christmas Bells 2

Church Window with Bells

Christmas Lantern

Large Ornaments on Holographic Mirri Board

Foiled Acetate Tree with small Ornament

Hobby House Christmas Elves Topper

All Peel Offs can quickly be found by looking under the category list on the left of the Home page – go to Embellishments – then Stickers and Peel Offs

I have listed individually though the ones I used for these cards.

Peel Off Christmas Tree – available in Silver/Gold & Green/Gold

Peel Off Christmas Baubles – available in Silver or Gold

For the card bases I used Pre Embossed cards and Self Embossed cards, Textured card and plain cardstock – check out the range here

The final card was made using the Hobby House Card Topper – Christmas Elves

I also used various Pearls and Bling

I hope you have seen some ideas that might assist you in putting your cards together.

Jane’s Projects

Jane has done some lovely projects using some of the lovely DCWV stacks that she has purchased and the Christmas embossing folder just in this year.  I am sure you will get some great inspiration from looking at these.

Christmas cards

A very effective use of embossing folders.

No doubt the person receiving this was absolutely delighted.

Wise Old Owl

Love the use of the real twigs and leaves.

Owl & the Moon

What a great way to use the pattern from the embossing folder to add extra dimension.

For someone special.

I am going to cheat and wait for Jane to let me know which stacks she used for her projects. My pile of DCWV is rather large and she might make locating the right name much easier.
UPDATE – Jane used Kaiser Craft papers and DCWV – Ciao Bella! for the book – second from the top.
Thank you so much for sharing these with us Jane. These are lovely.

Christmas Card Ideas

I have tried to put together a few simple ideas for Christmas cards using some of the tools I had already in my craft cupboard and some of the supplies from my store.

Any of these ideas and styles can be adapted to suit the supplies and tools you already have in your cupboard. Sometimes it just means you only need to add one or two extra supplies to give your project the final touch.

Check out what you have in your craft cupboard!

Now for a few ideas.

Centre Step Card - Christmas Tree Double layered

What a surprise I had when after writing up the instructions for the Centre Step Card following a demo on You Tube – I went to my craft supplies and I found that I had the exact size card in stock to create the card without cutting it down. All I needed to do was score, slice and fold. Too easy!

If you would like the instructions for the Centre Step card, leave a comment here or email me and I will forward them to you.

Another Centre Step Card

I will record the supplies I used at the bottom of this BLOG post.

and another

the inside

So quick and simple to make.

Another quick and simple one - what embossing folders do you have in your cupboard?

Some Peel Offs, some foil and an embossing folder!

Die cutters, coloured card stock, peel offs and embossing folder.

I painted the Peel Off sentiments with Dufex Brush Pens and now I have Green!

Patterned Acetate was used here. I think I will stock it. I like the fresh look! Now I have to decide - do I add a design in behind on the insert sheet or leave it white?

I added a few Transparent Peel Off Baubles as well – in amongst the stars!

Moved away from the traditional Christmas colours and used silver blue ink to colour the embossed design. I used the Brush Pens again to change the Peel Off colours.

I used the same embossing folder to emboss the foil and then cut them out and popped them up on the background. The Peel Off sentiments and bows were coloured with the Brush Pens.

I saw this idea below on You Tube and thought it didn’t look toooo difficult. Give it a try!

Half Swing Card

Half Swing Card - Inside

Mmmm kind of messed up the sentiment when I didn’t stick it down straight first time and pulled it off – didn’t get it right the second time either but…….you get the idea!
Products I used:
Gold Card – but also available in other colours
Christmas Paper Pack

Season`s Greetings

Transparent Ornaments

Transparent Ornaments

Peel Off Christmas Trees – also in Green

Backing Sheet Foil A4 Card – In gold and silver

Hobby House Card Toppers – Christmas Elves

Hobby House Card Toppers – Christmas Time

DCWV Christmas Stack

Dufex Brush Pens – 2 different packs in the range

Transparent Peel Off Ribbon

Red Bling – also in silver, green, blue, pink

Embossing Folder

Foil and Plain Card A5 size

Adhesives – Double sided tape and foam mounting squares

Peel Off Starts – Silver and Gold Glittered

I will add other ideas over the next few weeks.

Would love to share some of your ideas as well.

Trish’s White Embossed Christmas cards

Do you need to be inspired to use your embossing folders again this year? If you are like me, you have a bag or a drawer full of folders and think –  “Oh dear, I can’t use that again this year. I’ll end up giving the same card as I gave last year”. Well now you don’t have to worry. Let Trish inspire you by showing you how to create multiple looks with just one, two or three embossing folders. Get creating – no excuse now!!! Christmas is  just 3 months away.

Using the Christmas tree folder as it is but adding ribbon, liquid pearls and some Peel Off sentiments

The same tree but change the colour and you have a different look.

Use the same folder but use your die cut or hand cut a tree shape.

Use the same embossed tree but use a die cutter and cut a shape - then emboss your background card.

You don’t have a die cutter or die cut shapes? Experiment with handcut shapes – diamond, circle, oval. Check out your local craft store and see if they allow you to use their die cutters (usually charge a small fee). Have a craft day with your friends and share your tools.

Using the die cutter, Trish has been able to add two layers. The liquid pearls add the finishing touch - stunning!

and another layered die cut.

You don’t have liquid pearls in the cupboard? What have you got – not just in your craft cupboard but what about the old beads you never wear in the jewellery drawer!

A holly die cut, a bauble embossing folder, an appropriate photo, some sentiments and you have created a gem!

This time Trish has used the Swiss Dots embossing folder in the background.

Still have last years Christmas cards you received in the cupboard or a drawer? So have I, and the year before, and the year before, oh and even some of my grandmothers cards that she kept…….I need to go and take a look and see what I can use to create a similar card.

So cute. Amazing how by changing the centre piece you create a card that you know will be just right for a particular person.

Trish, I know you have inspired me.
I know I will have to get my husband to crawl under the desk and get the box of old cards out that he just tucked away for me a few days ago. I can just hear what he will say……….”Of course dear, anything else you need dear”. Mmmmm maybe not. Maybe he will ask me why I didn’t just leave them out.
Thank you for sharing these great ideas – for making an embossing folder that is gathering dust, come alive again.

Card Ideas

The are some cards I have made recently to give away as gifts or have made to order for someone. The products I have used are listed below.

Birthday Card - The Dressing Room

I folded an A5 piece of card in half – took a slice on an angle from the top fold corner down to just above half on the right hand side. I used the piece I had sliced from the top for the inside top corner of the card. When the card is closed if looks like the picture is all as one. When opened you get that seperation look. (Clear as mud – I’ll do a You tube demo if this is not explained properly here.)

Centre Step Card Standing

Card creations by Jane

I shared a few of Jane`s layouts a few days ago and will add some more over the next day or so but for today check out her lovely card creations.

I admire the work of people who are great at colouring in stamps and here you see delightful examples.

Celebrate Today

what a great card idea – the reflection in the water is just lovely.

For You

Adding the moss and twigs adds a real 3 dimensional effect here.

Ducks in a Row

Just a taste – more to come!!
Thanks Jane. I am sure you have inspired others to get those stamps out!

Card ideas using Peel Offs

Now you are either a fan of Peel Offs or you’re not! But………..I have to be honest and say that I haven’t used them much in the past but every time I go and see my distributor she shows  me the latest arrivals and I can’t resist and then………….I just have to play so that I can show others how to play and create with these embellishments.

Now…………….. I go to my distributor with a list of the ones that we want her to order in.

So after play day yesterday I came up with these.

(See below for links to products.)

For both of these I used some scrap from my stash and laid the kimono etc on that and then cut around. Of course you don’t need to. The Peel Off can just be placed on your background card.

And another

Again I cut these out of coloured paper and then I used a gel pen and coloured in the rose design on each fashion article. It was quite simple to do and you could use any number of colouring tools.

Ladies Fashion

The shirt is just laid onto a piece of check paper and then I coloured in the tie with a gel pen. Who would know!! Someone might think I took the time to cut out small pieces to place on the tie…………….no time for that but of course you could!!

Man's shirt

Again I have coloured the  rose design on the crockery with a gel pen. It certainly brings out the design but it is not essential. If I made this again I would make a large card to get all the pieces on but then again if I  used the same size card I could leave off the sugar basin and/or a cup.

Tea for Two!

So…. are you ready to give Peel off’s a go as well. If you decide you want to,  tell me to pop in a piece of that cotton lace you see above with your order.
It’s snowing here today and not the best day to photograph cards but I think you get the idea!
 Kimono Peel Off

For the guys Peel Off
Oriental Chic 8 x 8 stack
(I have one mat stack size left)
I am not holding the 8 x 8 at home. This may sell before I get a chance to order in- but don’t hesitate to ask.
Best Wishes Peel Off
