Very cute idea.

By making a card specifically for individuals it makes it so much easier when you think about their “Love” in life. Maybe it is Gardening, cars, music, travel…….maybe Horse riding, Dogs, Building or DIY. A great way to personalise a card and gift and also lets the receiver know that you are interested in who they are!!

Thanks again Sylvia.

Sylvia’s Cards made using Shimmer Sheetz

Just a few days ago Sylvia visited me and showed me these gorgeous cards she had made. She has generously given me permission to showcase these here on the BLOG and I will be showing more of her cards over the next days.

It is great to see what other creators do! If you are like me you will sometimes (maybe often) have a block and then you see what someone else has created and it gets you inspired again.

Shimmer Sheetz are reasonably new on the market. I first saw them just before Christmas last year and made a few cards with them. The colour range is amazing. They easily emboss, and you can use various markers to add additional colour. You can die cut them but not easily with intricate dies. I have cut them on the Cricut machine though and that worked well.

There are some good examples of how to use them on You Tube.

So for Sylvia’s cards. I am sure you will agree that these are beautiful.

cass - Shimmer Sheetz HBthday Thelma

As you can see, emboss these with whatever design you wish and you have your own unique style. These cards look stunning in the evening as well. If you have them on the sideboard or somewhere on show, they take on a whole new look when the light reflects off them.

Love, Joy and Peace

They are so perfect for Christmas cards. And another………..

Beautiful Christmas!!

I am gradually building up the colour range and happy to order in any colour you would like.

Sylvia has used Peel Off’s, ribbons and Christmas Embellishments from her personal stash. Check yours out you may be surprised what you find tucked away.

Sisters – Part One of a 2 page layout.

I love the Lace and Linen stack and so have continued to do some layouts using this paper. I am stuck at home at the moment so had the chance to get the first page finished. It was almost there but needed “something else”! As soon as I can get out and get my photos printed I will complete page 2.

I have enjoyed organising this page. Sisters are wonderful!!  Mine especially!!!!

This first picture is one of two sheets in this stack. To complete the second page I will turn it upside down so that it works like a mirror image. See photo 3.

Tattered Lace die – Ornamental Rose

This new die is simply gorgeous. I keep imagining all the different ways it could be used. Just as  a start, here are a few cards. They are so simple and yet it is easy to get an elegant creation from this die.

Rose Pavilion and Ornamental Die with Whimsy Stamp Notables 3 Die

Black goes with almost anything. Yellow is not a colour I use often but this combination of embossing folder, dies and ribbon work well on this yellow background.

Rosa Embossing Folder by Cuttlebug

This Anna Griffin Design Embossing Folder is just beautiful. Embosses really well and is great for enhancing with chalk or inks.

Rosa 1

Rosa 1

Just a little ribbon and a bow and you have a simple yet elegant card. I wish you could see the beautiful shimmer from the ink and doesn`t it make the rose design pop!

Rosa 2

Rosa 2

I wanted to try the design on the vellum and it works so well. You could take it a step further and chalk it on the back. Any number of sentiments could be added to this, along with some additional bling or a bow.

Rosa 3

Rosa 3

The little studs come from a ribbon trim set – see below. I just cut them off and glued them on with the zig pen. Holds well! So simple.

Rosa 4

Rosa 4

Add a different die – Hiigh Heel Glam,  which this time I embossed with silver embossing powder over a silver foil to give it greater depth.

Rosa 5

Rosa 5

Love these card toppers and they can be used in so many different ways.

Rosa 6

Rosa 6

I have used Chromatics cardstock here and this blue is quite stunning. It really doesn`t need much more when using such an elegant embossing folder.

Rosa 7

This really was a trial run and I am still making up my mind if I like it or not. Pink and silver do go beautifully together though don`t they!
