Nativity Card Ideas

I discovered this beautiful die while looking for something else entirely. It is obviously very popular as I had to back order it and I see it is again Out of Stock at my distributors. Still have a few in our Online store.

Anyway, just a few cards I enjoyed putting together during my first “Play”.

I have used a sheet from the Wild Rose Studio Paper Pack – Antique Library. Love that pack and I think it works well here as it has gradients of clour so that the nativity scene sits in the lighter shades and almost gives a glow!

and a different look by first embossing the card with small hearts (from my stash) but Swiss Dots would also work.

Love, Joy and Peace

Love, Joy and Peace

Still trying to decide if this one below is my favourite so far. I think it is!

Black & White Silhouette

Cottage Cutz Die – Nativity Silhouette

Wild Rose Studio Paper Pack – Antique Library

Gold Foil – if you are purchasing – I used the matt gold – ask for that if you want the same.

Embossing Folder – Swiss Dots

Elizabeth Craft Designs – Love, Joy and Peace Dies

Tattered Lace – Chantilly Flourish Corner Die

Black and White Cardmakers A5 Cardstock

Chromatics Cardstock – Midnight

Please feel free to ask any questions or make comments on the Facebook page. These cards will be added there in a couple of days.

Thank You for taking the time to stop by and look at this BLOG.

Tattered Lace Three Wise Men and Elizabeth Craft Designs Stand Up Helper Step Card

This is such a simple card to make and it just took half a 12 x 12 inch sheet of cardstock for the base card. So 12 x 6inches. Leave a message on the Facebook page if you want to know the fold line measurements. I used Kraft card to make the sand dunes and added a bit of Colorbox chalk along the top edges of the tears. The stars are Peel off stickers. I have put a list of the products used at the bottom of this post.

Step Card Front On

Step Card Front On

The Season’s Greetings stand up helper was placed on the first fold line and run through my cutting machine. A bit of tape to hold it in place is useful and any tape marks are covered by the cardstock embellishments.

Step Card - Looking down on it.

Just another view looking slightly down on the card. There is plenty of room on the back of the card for any personal sentiments.

Step Card - Side view

Step Card – Side view

This side view shows where the Stand Up helper is cut into. This could be covered with the kraft cardstock if you wished but it is hidden when looking at the card while standing and therefore I didn’t feel it was necessary. The card folds easily into a standard C6 envelope for posting.

Just One of the Three Wise Men.

Just One of the Three Wise Men.

Just to be different I have just used one of the Three Wise Men on this card. The smallest of the three.

Products used:

Tattered Lace – Three Wise Men Die

Elizabeth Craft Designs Season’s Greetings Stand Up Helper

Chromatics Cardstock – Midnight CS40

Gold Foil (I used a matt foil – not shown on the store site but you can email me if you wish to use this)

Peel Offs – Stars (Glittered)

For the last card I used:

Embossing Folder – Joy to All

White A5 Card Makers Cardstock

Whimsy Stamps – Corner Die set

Adhesives – Double sided Tape, Foam Squares and  Brush Glue

Penny Farthing – Love this die!!

I just really had to have a play as soon as this Penny Farthing Die arrived. So many memories associatd with this bike style. No, not quite that old but……….I do remember watching Hay’s procession as a child in the centre of Christchurch, NZ at Christmas time and then got to be a part of the procession as a bride doll on the Doll Shop float. Penny farthing riders cycled in and out of the spaces around the floats. Such fun!!

Then there is the Canterbury museum and the Transport Museum at Ferrymead where you get to see these lovely old bikes. So many other places………….memories!!

I’ll keep creating with this one and add to this section. Love to see your ideas.

I made this first card for my mum’s 79 birthday. I love the white on white theme that is so popular at the moment. I’ll list the products I used at the bottom of this post when I get a chance.

Transparent Peel Off – Christmas designs

I really do enjoy working with the Peel Offs. You can get such a simple effect with so little effort. This card showing the Christmas Bells is made using the Fundamentals Flourish Card pack and I love the strong white of these cards. They have quite an elegant look to them.
