We are just loving the new Creative Expressions dies by Sue Wilson. They are so versatile and very reasonably priced. I love that you have so many choices from just one package and when someone said the other day, “I like this die, but I want to see some cards made with it first”, that I just had to reply “I’ll make some this week”.
So here are just a few ideas – some still await a sentiment but I am waiting for the inspiration. Or maybe I will just let the die tell its story.

The die is imbedded into the card front.
The die has been cut into pieces using the various outline cuts and then placed on top of the card front. Will I add a sentiment – maybe, maybe not!
Again it has been imbedded into the card front and backed with gold card. Also awaits me making up my mind as to whether I will add a sentiment or not.

Why not add a pre-made poinsettia!
Stunningly beautiful die with a real lacy look. The option of having the Poinsettia at the top or bottom of the frame is great.

It’s been a while but these quick cards made using the Hearty Crafts Luxury Cards and their 3D embellishments make card making easy when time is pressured. Some Peel Off stickers, glittered dots, Polka Dot Gemstones and you have a simple but elegant card.
These 3D sheets are just lovely. They have a porcelain effect – all shiny and elegant. What could be better but to team them up with Debbi Moore’s Art Deco designs.

Peel Off stickers are experiencing a revival. There is such a huge range now of stickers that cover a wide range of themes. Personally I have a bit of a thing for the black stickers as they either give that very distinct line around the picture and depending on what your theme is – eg Christmas Baubles etc., the black edge can give that stained glass effect.
Also now that Elizabeth Craft Designs has bought out the transfer sheets for using with the “waste” left on the sheet, you can now get double the amount of product from your sheet and a very interesting effect.

Using the Negatives
If you have been following my BLOG you will know that I have a passion for Debbi Moore Designs Art Deco, magazines and ideas. I am not a great fan of Art Deco buildings but for some reason the fashion and design really gets to me.
Below I have created some cards using Debbi’s Designs. I put the CD on my computer and resized some of the elements and the papers. I then printed these as photos to give me a solid weight to work with and also because I find printing on the computer is more costly.

There are a whole series of emotions that you face when doing pages for a young man who was Killed in Action. These two lads were 1st cousins of my grandmother, making them my 1st cousins twice removed. I had heard of John Colin Campbell numerous times throughout my growing up years as my grandmother had a large photograph on her lounge wall and each year after attending the ANZAC Day service at the Burwood Memorial in Christchurch, New Zealand she would replace the previous years poppy or sometimes she would add the poppy leaving the previous year one still in its place. She also named one of her son’s after John Colin – Colin H…. I really must get a copy of that original photo that she had.
I heard about Alexander when I was doing Genealogy research for the Campbell family and looked up one of my extended family members. She let me take a copy of the little boy on Alexander’s page. Alexander was also my grandmother’ first cousin – nephews of my great grandmother, sons of two of her brothers.
I am always delighted to see the signature of those who I never got to meet – not sure why but it feels like you see something very personal about them. It is one of the first things I look for when looking at old Wills.
Anyway enough for now. I will add more to this page (particularly between the pictures) but just wanted to start somewhere. You can click on the pictures to enlarge.
